• Instability in mood

Tips for management:

• Be aware of your own attitude as these patient disengage easily if they feel they are not being valued
• Respond to the person not the person’s diagnosis or label
• Be patient, as it is easy to get disheartened
• Set clear boundaries about acceptable and unacceptable behaviour if required
